"The Bear in the Blueberry" - Stories & Songs

Join Alaskan author Linda Buckley and me for a special reading of her first children’s book, “The Bear in the Blueberry”! We’ll also sing some songs about Earth and inter-being, and of course dance a little and practice some mindfulness.

‘Children and their parents love this book and read it night after night discovering more connections between bears in blueberries and “everything in everything”.  A third grade teacher said after I read to her class, “we wondered if the students were in the teacher and how was the teacher in the students?  We discussed the bear fact at the end of the book which asks “are there bears in the sky?” deciding that if the bears eat the blueberries and exhale oxygen they are in the sky. That clouds in the sky look like bears.  And of course finally, constellations include ursa major and ursa minor and the big dipper which is the main focus of the Alaska Flag.”’
